Come join a business where fencing isn't just what we sell – it's what we know inside out. We're on the hunt for a high-energy Sales & Quoting Specialist to be the face (and voice) of our fencing supplies business, serving both retail and trade customers in store, on the phone and via email.
YOU
- People describe you as “confident”, “practical” and “a straight shooter who knows their stuff”. You're the person mates call when they're planning a fence (or any DIY job usually), because you actually know the solutions needed.
- You know fencing – products, materials, spans, gates, fixings – or you've got solid hands-on experience in fencing, building supplies or a related trade and you pick things up fast. When a customer describes their job, you can picture it, ask the right questions and know what they need to get the job done.
- Your communication skills are second to none. You're just as comfortable talking a first-time DIYer through their weekend project as you are quoting a busy fencing contractor who wants numbers and products, fast. In person, on the phone or over email – you're clear, friendly and switched on.
- You're solutions focussed. You don't just take orders – you listen, work out what the customer actually needs, and put together the right package. If there's a problem, you find a way through it.
- You've got energy to burn. You thrive in a busy environment, juggle multiple enquiries without dropping the ball, and follow up your quotes because you LOVE solving problems, not creating them.
- Your past employers were sad to lose you thanks to your reliability, work ethic and the way customers kept coming back and asking for you by name.
Qualities we are looking for:

Essential requirements:
• Genuine knowledge of fencing products and their applications (or strong experience in fencing, building supplies or a related trade)
• Proven sales or customer-facing experience – retail, trade counter or similar
• Confident communicator in person, on the phone and in writing
• Able to prepare accurate quotes and manage follow-ups
• Comfortable with point-of-sale and basic computer systems (email, quoting software)
• Saturday availability is a must – we work a rotating roster once every 3 weeks for Saturday mornings
THE ROLE
Due to continued growth, we've opened a new Sales & Quoting Specialist position. Working within a close-knit team in a family run local business, you'll be a key driver of sales and the go-to person for product knowledge and quoting. Your role will include (but not be limited to):
• Retail and trade sales of fencing supply products – in person at the counter, over the phone and via email
• Preparing accurate, competitive quotes and following them up to close the sale
• Helping customers work out materials and quantities for their fencing projects
• Building strong relationships with trade customers and repeat clients
• Processing sales and orders, and liaising with the team on stock and deliveries
Casual position: This is a casual position to start with the view to full time for the right applicant.
