New Owners, Same Expert Advice:

Meet Mick & Kelly

If you've popped into Fence World lately, you might have spotted a couple of new faces. As of May 2026, Caboolture's local fencing supplies business has new owners — Mick Dan and Kelly Burton — but the fence yard the Moreton Bay region has relied on since the 1990s isn't going anywhere.

Same local team, same yard, same range of Colorbond, chain wire and aluminium fencing (actually theres more to come!). Just some fresh energy behind the counter and a genuine passion for doing right by the customer.

Here's a bit about who's now running the show.

Mick: business builder and hands-on operator

Mick brings a rare mix to Fence World — he's built and run business for over 15 years, knows his way around a work site, and understands the land just as well. With a diverse background in civil construction, engineering, and organic farming,  he's the kind of practical hands on owner you'd trust with your fencing projects. Never one to let a problem go un-solved, Mick is a go to for all fencing projects and advice, as well as a whole lot of other handyman/construction know how.

On the business side, he spent over a decade as co-founder and CEO of Good Harvest Organics, growing it from the ground up before a successful sale in 2024 — and picking up Australian Organic Farmer of the Year (2021) and a Sunshine Coast Business Award along the way. Running farms, as well as being a 5th generation farmer from Gympie, he knows a thing of two about rural fencing.

He holds his construction White Card, has supervised build projects, and has run the budgets, logistics and supply chains that keep any job — on a site or on the land — moving on time.

What does that mean for you? Whether you're a builder chasing materials for the next job, a contractor fencing a new subdivision, or running stock on acreage, Mick's been on your side of the fence. He knows fencing isn't a nice-to-have — it's infrastructure that has to go up right the first time and stand up for years. Plus, his number one goal - is to support your success!

Kelly: the systems and service side

Mick's not doing this solo. His business partner Kelly Burton runs the operations, systems and customer-experience side of the business — and the two of them are a proven team. They co-founded and grew Good Harvest together, so taking on Fence World is simply the next chapter for a partnership that's already built and sold a successful business once.

Kelly's background is in operations, retail systems, eCommerce and marketing. In plain terms, that means a smoother experience for you: easier ordering, better stock visibility, quicker quotes, and a business that's simply easy to deal with — whether you're a trade account or a weekend DIYer.

What's changing (and what isn't)

First, the important bit: the things you like about Fence World aren't going anywhere.

  • Same friendly local crew (plus a familiar face re-joins the team)
  • Same range of Colorbond fencing, chain wire, aluminium, gates and hardware
  • Same yard right here in Caboolture — still serving Morayfield, Burpengary, Narangba and the wider Moreton Bay and North Brisbane region.

What you'll notice over the coming months is sharper service and better systems behind the scenes — Mick and Kelly are investing in the stuff that means you spend less time waiting and more time getting the job done.

Come say g'day

Whether you're after Colorbond fencing for the back yard, chain wire for a big rural block, or trade supplies for the next job, Mick, Kelly and the team would love to help. Drop into the Caboolture yard, give us a call, or jump online — and welcome to the next chapter of Fence World.
